Q. How can I use wireless Internet at the Regal Hotel & Residence?
A. Wireless access uses the WiFi standard (also known as IEEE 802.11b). Most users can simply bring their wireless-enabled laptop computer or other wireless device to the Regal Hotel & Residence and turn it on. The computer will automatically recognize the wireless network. If your laptop does not have wireless built-in, you can install a WiFi-compatible network card. Regal Hotel & Residence cannot guarantee your equipment will work with the Hotel's network.
Q. How does it work?
A. Wireless access points located at the Regal Hotel & Residence communicate with your wireless device. You should be able to connect almost anywhere in the Hotel. When your wireless network card senses a signal, a message appears on your screen indicating a wireless network is available. Open your web browser. A greeting screen appears (in place of your home page) asking you to insert the username and password provided by receptionist.
Q. Will I need any special settings or passwords to connect?
A. Yes, pls ask reception for user names and passwords (required).
Q. Is my information safe while using wireless?
A. As every internet connection, your information is not protected while using wireless, unless you are connected to a web page that employs encryption and use "https" protocol (stores, banks, etc.).
Q. Are there any restrictions on my use of the Internet?
A. Wireless users agree to abide by the Hotel's which prohibits abusive or illegal activity while using the Giardino verdi's Internet service. Wireless security equipment protects the Hotel's internal network. This equipment also meters download speeds to ensure quality service to all users.
Q. Can I print while using wireless?
A. Yes, you can.
Q. Can the Hotel help me configure my computer?
A. Sorry, everyone's computer is different and you are responsible for knowing how to configure your own equipment. The Hotel cannot be responsible for any changes you make to your computer's settings. If you need additional assistance, you may need to contact the hardware or software manufacturer.
